About ABA Pisco
Open Your Mind. Try Pisco
Pisco ABA, founded in 1921 is a family-owned, third-generation producer of Pisco, a liquor produced by distilling fermented grape juice into a high-proof spirit.
ABA Pisco is produced by the Aguirre family using traditional methods passed through generations. The family's property is located in the heart of Elqui Valley, Chile. This land is one of the best areas for growing grapes for pisco. Everything started in 192, when Alberto Aguirre Taborga, a descendant of the Spanish conqueror, bought the Fundo San Juan property in El Arenal and started producing pisco under his own brand.
His son Juan Antonio Aguirre Cortés continues the tradition and enhances it by actively participating in the pisco industry. Later, his grandson, Alejandro Aguirre Basulto, joined the family business to continue the family traditions of producing pisco.
The best Muscat grapes harvested by hand from the area in the Elqui Valley are used to produce ABA Pisco. Grapes are first fermented at low temperatures and then carefully distilled in small traditional copper stills to produce a clear, crystal spirit, with soft and delicate flavours of the Muscat grapes, all in 40º alcohol strength.
The resulting concoction is delicate and smooth, the grapes are clear but it's the softer spiced floral notes. The fruity nature of the Muscat grape returns on the finish. Great topped with soda or in a Pisco Sour.
