Made By Nature Not By Rules
Nc'nean is an independent, organic whisky distillery that exists to create experimental spirits and pioneer sustainable production.
Our mission is to change the way the world thinks about whisky from Scotland.
Annabel Thomas started Nc’nean to change the way the world thinks about whisky from Scotland. Her goal was to create a whisky that could exist in harmony with this planet we call home. She spent four years raising funds and building the Nc’nean distillery from the ground up on the west coast of Scotland. Annabel started distilling in 2017, she is running the entire operation on renewable energy, and recently launched her first organic single malt whisky.
Typically, the whisky industry is extremely carbon-intensive, with most distilleries being powered by fossil fuels. We've opted for biomass instead, using woodchips from local commercial forestry to fuel our two copper pot stills.
Whisky bottled in 100% recycled glass
Nc’nean whisky bottles are made from 100% post-consumer recycled glass, at first for the UK spirits industry. These bottles have a 40% lower carbon footprint than those bottles made from virgin glass and can be recycled again and again.Other packaging elements, such as cork stopper, tamper, label, and gift tube are also made with recyclable materials. That means that Nc’nean bottles are plastic-free and planet-friendly! Cheers to Nc'nean!
