The cold winter weather is the perfect time to enjoy a warm and spicy cocktail. Here are some of our favorite boozy winter drinks that will help keep you warm all season long.

Hot Buttered Rum

Sometimes all you need after a long and cold day is some hot buttered rum. This recipe can be made in just minutes, perfect for warming up on those chilly winter nights!

Ingredients:

  • 60ml - aged rum
  • 120ml - hot water
  • 2 teaspoons - brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon - unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 splash of vanilla extract
  • 1 dash of ground cinnamon
  • 1 dash of ground nutmeg
  • Cinnamon stick, for garnish

Method:

Put the sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and spices into the mug and mix well. Pour in the rum and top it with hot water. Stir gently until sugar and butter dissolve. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Gin Toddy

This classic drink is the perfect way to relax after a long day. Combining the warming flavors of spices, honey, and lemon with smooth gin, this cocktail is sure to please.

Ingredients:

  • 75ml - gin
  • 120ml - hot water
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp orange juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Method:

In a mug, add the gin, lemon and orange juice, honey and spices. Pour the hot water and stir until honey dissolves. Garnish with a stick of cinnamon and enjoy.

Serious Hot Chocolate

Recipe - Black Cow Vodka

If you're in the mood for something sweet and boozy, try this hot chocolate with Black Cow Vodka. It's perfect for warming up on a cold winter day.

Ingredients: 

  • 90g of 100% cacao or chocolate
  • 70g - raw cane sugar
  • 300ml - hot water
  • 150ml - Black Cow Vodka

Method: 

Roughly chop the cacao or chocolate into a saucepan and add water and sugar. On medium heat, bring it back so it is just on the point of boiling, whisking to get a froth. Remove from the heat and pour in the vodka, whisking briefly. Pour into your cups, dust with grated chocolate, and serve.

Spiced Hot Cross Rum

This recipe is just what the doctor ordered! A delicious whisky, matched with apple juice, and ginger fresh will keep you warm and cozy.

Ingredients:

  • 40ml - whisky
  • 50ml a apple juice 
  • 50ml - hot water 
  • 5ml - ginger fresh
  • 3 teaspoons of honey
  • 2 lemon slices

Method:

Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer on low heat. Then pour in a mug, garnish with cinnamon sticks and lemon slices and enjoy.
