Rum is an undoubtedly delicious spirit that pair well with spring. It might not be quite warm enough to savour Pina Colada to Daiquiri, but it’s certainly nice enough to sip one or two easy-to-make drinks when the sun’s out. Here are 3 easy ways to sip spiced rum.
Way 1 - Add a splash of Ginger Lime Mixer
Long Tail Ginger Lime Mixer was created to be a perfect match for your favourite spiced rum. The fresh zest of lime is warmed by soft, Jamaican style gingers in this mixer.
Mix it with Warner's Trash & Treasure Spiced Botanical Rum for a refreshing spin on the Dark and Stormy. It's just a perfect after work tipple that takes less than a minute to make.
The subtle ginger flavor melts right into the spiciness of rum. For a perfect combo, add a squeeze of lime and enjoy! It also tastes great with aged rum, so give it a try.
Way 2 - Whisky style: with a splash of water or ice
Remember we've told you that rum is a new whisky? Well, why don't try to drink it in whisky style! Add a splash of water or ice to your beloved spiced rum and savour its complex flavours. You can also add a slice of lime to bring some refreshing flavours into the drink.
Looking for a spiced rum to savour on its own? We highly recommend you to try Dark Matter Spiced Rum. When enjoyed on its own over ice, this richly spiced spirit will satisfy the most curious of palates.
Way 3 - Try Spiced Old Fashioned
Try using rum in place of whisky in an old-fashioned for a twist on the traditional cocktail. Finish with ice and a strip of orange peel
Ingredients:
- 50ml spiced rum
- 1 tsp sugar syrup
- few dashes of orange bitters
- ice
- a strip of orange peel, to garnish
Method
Mix rum, sugar syrup and bitters in a mixing glass. Add 2 ice cubes and stir gently with a mixing spoon until the mixing glass is cold. Then strain the drink into an ice-filled rocks glass and garnish with an orange peel.
